This morning our plumber came to install faucets and toilets in the basement. The name of his company is rescue plumbing or something like that and just yesterday he acquired a new vehicle which he is planning to have repainted soon. Well, he parked his ambulance outside our house early this morning and we have had all sorts of adventures because of it. My visiting teacher dropped by with a message and some breakfast treats and came dashing to the door in alarm, we had friends call to offer help with kids, the friend who drives Kate's carpool today is a nurse and she came rushing to the door to she if she could help. I guess this is all better than having an ambulance parked in front of your house for three hours and having nobody care or notice.
Another interesting phenomenon is also shown in the above picture -- we have a large (annoying) dumpster parked in our driveway for the construction garbage. We have hadd all sorts of interesting things show up in the dumpster overnight -- you can see a broken patio table and umbrella near the top. There are also HUGE boxes from beds and dressers, a broken toilet, tons of rocks from someone's yard. Some of these things people called to ask if they could dump. Some of these things just showed up in the bin despite the fact that it says $300 fine for unauthorized dumping. I'm thinking we should track down the offenders and let them help pay for the bin!
Ugh to the unauthorized dumpers! But the plumbing ambulance thing is hilarious! Must be good to know people care, at least!
ReplyDeleteYou gave me a good laugh! I love all the updates. One of these days we will actually see each other. I don't like to leave my house however. It is way too complicated.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a huge dumpster to bring out the criminal underground in Provo!
ReplyDeleteThis whole post cracked me up. Who knew your neighbors were such criminals? =) The ambulance out front was hilarious.
