Cowgirls
For her birthday, Ella has been pleading for months that we buy her a horse. Since she's never really even SEEN a horse, we decided that a horse ride might be fun and perhaps a little discouraging to these cowgirl dreams. So Saturday, we took the kids up to the stables at Sundance for a horse ride. They each got a turn on JJ the horse with Josh guide at the rope. Far from discouraging her, the ride confirmed to Ella that when she grows up she's going to move to Hawaii and become a paniolo -- a hawaiian cowgirl. We finished off the adventure with a stroll around Sundance which ended, of course, in the ice cream shop for Leah's favorite treat.

Ooh fun! Though Ella probably didn't do a lot of galloping, because her insanely sore legs the next day would have shot that paniolo dream down fast..
ReplyDeleteThey look so little up on that big horse! I wonder if that's how little Nana looked when she started riding--when was that, anyway? Do they do Suzuki horseback riding for tiny tots?
ReplyDeleteOh that brings back such good memories of riding horses as a kid. I've only ever taken my kids to ride the ponies at Thanksgiving Point, though Mom's cousin in Santa Clara did let me ride one of his horses that Christmas we spent down there with Imma.
