National Museum of Dentistry

This week, Sarah had a blocked salivary gland again, so we spent some time thinking and learning about the mouth.  A strong antibiotic took care of her problem, but we decided this was the perfect week to go to the National Museum of Dentistry.  The world's first dental school was right here in Baltimore so they made a museum that chronicles the history of dental care and many interesting facts about teeth and saliva.

Turns out jaws are incredibly strong and people can hold themselves up or even lift cars with tightly clenched teeth.

George Washington's false teeth. I'd never really heard about how much stress and pain his teeth caused him and how it even affected his ability to carry out his duties in the field and as president. Isn't that a lesson for life!
