Allen D. loved to hike and during their Utah years, he took some of the grandkids hiking up to Donut falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon. So Shari and I and the girls met up with Shauna and her boys to do the hike again together. It was a really great hike, mostly shady, not too long for the littlest ones and the payoff of a lovely waterfall was great.
It was lots of fun to spend time with the Johnson cousins.
Leah especially had a great time.
Afterwards, we drove into Sandy for some lunch and gelato, which Grandpa also would have heartily approved of. Shari, Shauna, and I put some fun new flowers on his headstone while the kids played at the Johnsons. It was a nice day.
